NTX Qualifications

NoTanx have been certifying Freedivers since 2002.
Based on the principle that to master skills they must be practiced rather than simply learnt.
Instructors require on average 300 sessions to get certified. This usually takes approximately 3years.

 
 

FOundation

single day course covering safety basics & techniques. Following completion of this course, a student will be able to practice safely in an enclosed environment (e.g. pool) upto 5m deep.


Advanced (Red)

correct techniques as well as recognition of development strategies. This requires Demonstration of awareness & safety when working with depths greater than 28m.







Advanced & Specialist coach

We recognise NTX instructor’s preferences with advanced & specialist teaching qualifications.
This allows the passing on of expert knowledge & skills allowing us a full training programme.

darkwater

When freediving with no natural light special protocols are required. This qualification recognises that a student is experienced enough to dive safely in these challenging conditions.

Open Water

After completing this course (minimum 2 open water sessions), which complement pool training, a student will know the fundamentals of diving in open water safely. upto a max of 16m.


Assistant Instructor

After helping run sessions & demonstrating safe organisation of groups. Students are invited to complete
the Basic Session supervisor Safety test :
oversee sessions of qualified freedivers.
the advanced session supervisor saFETY test :
run sessions that include new freedivers.


 

S.R.T

Single Rope Techniques are used to access locations that are below ground or otherwise difficult to reach. It is important to become proficient in abseiling and ascending skills in order to remain calm, relaxed and safe when freediving in such locations.

Open Water (pt2)

Following the Open water course, it is imperative to practice the skills learnt before being able to demonstrate them consistently. This qualification shows competence upto 28m

sled

Sled diving is commonly misunderstood as just a way to go deeper.
We teach to use it as a tool for

  • acclimatisation

  • exploration

  • safety
