Competitions
pool competition every march
The Birthday Comp is a weekend of pool competition fun, held every year over a weekend in mid-march.
Everybody is welcome, and it’s designed for all experience levels to enter and enjoy - beginners especially!
There are 3 individual competitions (dynamic no fins, dynamic fins and statics), and 3 prizes for the best dives.
Saturday is the day for no-fins enthusiasts, and Sunday is our main event.
Our 2025 competition dates will be confirmed at the end of the year, and will be able to book your spot then!
Open to all, NoTanx club members get a discounted entry fee.
OPEN WATER COMPTITION every september
Competition practice for those who want it, Competition coaching for Newbies and an opportunity for 2 days freediving at Vobster Quay, Somerset. The next competition will be in September 2025, and booking will open early in the year.
Over the weekend there’s a chance for 1:1 sessions and sled training alongside unstructured sessions to explore the lake.
The competitions are held on Saturday & Sunday mornings, and on Saturday afternoon club members run wellness sessions - in past year’s we’ve had guided sauna sessions, ice baths, breathwork workshops, yoga, massage and more!

DIVING IN POOLS IS A GREAT WAY TO LEARN ASPECTS OF FREEDIVING TECHNIQUE AND BOND WITH FELLOW ENTHUSIASTS ALL YEAR ROUND…
BUT LET’S FACE IT, THERE’S NOTHING QUITE LIKE FREEDIVING OUTSIDE!
Throughout the warm(er) months, we organise regular trips to Vobster Quay (Somerset) and Wraysbury Dive Centre (Middlesex), our favourite locations for getting out into open water environments. These outings are opportunities to get Open Water qualified (visit our Courses page), and if you are already qualified you are welcome to come along, join in the dives, get coaching from the instructors or just hang out and enjoy the sun (sun not guaranteed).
We go to Wraysbury once a month through the summer, and Vobster Quay 2 or 3 times a year.
