A week of camping & diving in Cornwall

What’s Freefest?

A fun-filled week of camping and freediving in Cornwall, and a NoTanx highlight of the year!

This event is suitable for the whole family, but freedivers are recommended to have completed their Open Water Course to make the most of the varied and beautiful freediving opportunities!

We have a dedicated campsite “base camp”, complete with a marquee, sauna & chill out tent. We also offer Catamaran and Sea Kayaking trips during the week as well as an organised evening meal in an ancient castle.

Daily schedule

• Morning meeting/daily briefing

• Dive site 1

• Lunch is "on the beach" or cafe (weather dependant)

• Dive site 2

• Visit megalithic stone structures or amazing ancient historical site

• Evening activities

Organised evening activities - Yoga, meditation, fire juggling, team games, BBQ, firepit sing song, Ukulele classes, Sauna, Ice bath, board games

Most people arrive on Friday or Saturday.
Official diving is Monday - Friday but activites start on Saturday.

2025 we are offering Glamping options (upto 4 people per tent)

It’s BYO for all kit, camping gear and adventurous spirit, but freediving kit hire can be arranged in advance at a cost of £40 for those who require it.

Location and logistics

We have a field in Redruth (c/o Globe Vale) in which you are welcome to come and go as you wish.

You can leave you car at the campsite and jump in with someone else - we share petrol costs 
(just give £5 to the driver in the AM - then everyone can swap cars during the day)

TESCOS - yup there is a huge TESCOs about 1mile from the campsite.. as well as a camping/surplus shop next to the station. 

Train it - Of course you can jump on the train to Redruth - let us know you are coming to arrange a pick-up or just jump in a cab to the camp site.
